USA Track & Field Launches USATF TourPublished by
USA TRACK & FIELD LAUNCHES USATF TOUR INDIANAPOLIS – OCTOBER 20, 2025 – USA Track & Field (USATF), the national governing body for track and field in the United States, announced the creation of the USATF Tour; a transformative opportunity to elevate professional track and field competition through the standardization of best practices, coordination schedules and with financial, marketing and logistical support from the federation. Beginning in 2026, the USATF Tour will bring together World Athletics-labeled meets as well as those seeking World Athletics labels with a goal of enhancing sponsorship opportunities, improving athlete development and delivering a consistent experience for fans and viewers. In 2025, 19 World Athletics Continental Tour meets, two Grand Slam events, and one Diamond League meet competed for attention within a 15-week period in the United States. This disorganized approach creates unnecessary competition for athlete participation as well as for ticket sales, broadcast windows and viewership. As the national federation, it is the responsibility of USATF to facilitate collaboration to streamline this landscape by establishing a strategic national calendar, shared marketing and media support, and consistent competitive standards. “The USATF Tour represents a collective investment in the future of our sport,” said Max Siegel, CEO of USATF. “It addresses some of the key challenges facing track and field in the United States including fragmented scheduling, overlapping events, and dispersed media coverage. Together with dedicated meet organizers from across the country, we can deliver stronger competition, a better fan experience, and greater value for athletes, partners, and communities.” Key Benefits of the USATF Tour:
Existing and newly-formed meets can begin applying to be a part of the tour immediately with the process closing on October 31. USATF will work with meet organizers to announce a full calendar at its annual meeting on December 5, 2025. For questions, please contact [email protected]. More news |
