[Women's Track & Field] Lady Warriors Set New Highs at Chabot/CSU East Bay Legacy InvitePublished by
Hayward, Calif. – The Warrior women's track and field team set new highs at the 2014 Chabot/CSU East Bay Legacy Invitational on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. With 122 team points, the Warriors took second place out of 29 teams. Senior Hannah Wiesner set the bar high early with a first place finish in the 1500 meters. Wiesner finished with a time of 4:52.29. Senior Dallas Butterfield took third with a time of 5:25.20, which was her best time of the season. Right behind Butterfield was Sophomore Allyson Richmond with a time of 5:25.72. Junior Sara Martinez rounded out the top five with a time of 5:37.00. In the 800 meter, Wiesner took first with her best time of the year at 2:25.32. Butterfield placed third with a time of 2:38.29. Senior Christina Malek recorded her top time of 2:40.30 to place fourth, while Allyson Richmond rounded out the top five with a time of 2:40.45. Junior Angel Mabuni recorded a time of 23:50.32 in the 5000 meter. Senior Emily Fernandez led the Warriors with a first place finish in the 100 and 200 meters. Fernandez recorded times of 13.72 and 28.52, respectively. Freshman Lauren Lee took second in the 100 meters with a time of 13.74, while junior Lauren Young placed second in the 200 meters with a time of 30.59. The 4x400 team of Butterfield, Richmond, Malek and Wiesner took first with a time of 4:28.83. Freshman Jennah Richmond had her best throw of the year in the shot put. Jennah took first with a throw of 9.96 meters, while fellow freshman Shannon Postle took second with a throw of 9.04. Postle placed first in the discus with a throw of 19.45 meters.
