Former Lion Tara Erdmann earned a spot in Thursday's 5k final at the 2012 Olympic trials in Eugene, Ore. after finishing fourth overall on Monday in her heat with a time of 15:49.98. Sixteen athletes will compete in Thursday's race, as the top-six in each heat are joined by the next four fastest times that did not automatically qualify based on finish. The top-three finishers in the race will represent USA at the 2012 London Olympic Games.
