Women's Track and Field: Amy Watt Has Strong Performance In RioPublished by
CLAREMONT, Calif. -- First-year student Amy Watt competed strongly in three events at the Rio, Brazil 2016 Paralympic Games this past week. Watt, from Gunn HS in Palo Alto, earned two sixth place finishes — first in the long jump and then in the 400 meters. Watt long jumped 16-10 3/4 (5.15 meters) on September 8. Her best mark came in the first round of 12 jumpers, which advanced her to the finals. Watt competed in the 400 meters on September 13, running 64.56 to finish fourth in her heat and earn a spot in the final.
