[Cross Country] Warriors Cross Country Competes at Sac-StatePublished by
Rockilin, Calif- William Jessup University Men and Women's Cross Country teams competed this past weekend on Saturday morning in Sacramento Calif. at Granite Regional Park. The Warriors faced some tough competition going up against such schools as California, Fresno State, UC Davis, and Sacramento State. Both teams have been working hard since pre season training. All of their hard work has shown in the recent results. The Men and Women Warriors both had outstanding times, on the rigorous, dusty, hilly 4 mile course for the men and 5 kilometer (3.1 miles) course for the women. The Warriors definitely turned heads on Saturday with their new standout Nike Warrior uniforms. The women started off the morning, finishing strong. Sophomore Melissa Copely led the Lady Warriors crossing the finish line with a time of 20:39. Following Copely was sophomore Hannah Weisner with a time of 22.05.4. Junior Alyssa Amack and Freshman Allyson Richmond came in with times of 23.02.8 and 23.03.2. All other lady Warriors finished strong, with huge improvements from last years times on that course. The Lady Warriors are excited for the turnout this season.
The Warriors will be back at it for their second race on Saturday Sept. 15th at Mills College in Oakland Calif.
