[Women's Cross Country] Wiesner Completes Career With Strong Finish At NAIA National Championships

LAWRENCE, Kan. — (Results) William Jessup University senior Hannah Wiesner finished out her career on a cold Saturday afternoon in the 34th Annual NAIA Women's Cross Country National Championships at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, Kan.

Looking to improve on her 2012 National time of 20:47 to place 243, Wiesner ran with focus as she pushed herself to a 127th place finish with a time of 19:24.  "I knew it was my last race, so I wanted to give my best effort," stated Wiesner.  "Despite the cold, I felt great throughout the race and was able to finish strong." 

Coach Daniells stated: "Hannah ran a great race today.  She was focused and I am really proud of how she battled out there today. We have been blessed to have her a part of our program."

British Columbia concluded its national title defense, bringing home its second-straight team. Hillary Holt, 2012 NAIA National Champion and two-time (2012, 2013) Cascade Collegiate Conference individual titlist, defended her national title, outpacing the 319-runner field with a 5k time of 16:48. Runner-up Hillary Helker of Oklahoma Baptist finished in16:58.

This was the Warriors final season representing the California Pacific Conference as they move to the Golden State Athletic Conference in 2014.
