Cross Country Teams Excel at Mustang ChallengePublished by
Competing at The Mustang Challenge, Westmont Cross Country teams put up an impressive performance. The women's team took first place, scoring 39 points to beat out the hosts who finished in second with 50 points. The men's team finished second in the field of nine, scoring 69 points to The Master's 30.
In the Women's 5,000 meter race, seven Warriors finished in the top thirteen places. Freshman Jessica Meyers claimed fifth place with a time of 18:29 while Danica Rosendale took sixth in a time of 18:26. Amber Collier placed eighth in a time of 18:42 and Alexandria Adams was ninth in a time of 18:45.
Corinne Cherne, Piper Bain and Jordan McCall finished eleventh through thirteenth in that order, with times of 19:00, 19:03 and 19:06.
Third place in the women's race went to Loyola Marymount with 71 points. La Verne edged out Vanguard for fourth place, scoring 103 points to the Lions' 105. Fresno Pacific claimed sixth with 145 points. Arizona Christian took seventh with 171 points and San Diego Christian was eighth with 225 points.
